Important update for parents using Bonya
Our mission with Bonya has always been to offer families a lower-cost formula without compromising on quality ingredients -and we’re incredibly proud to have made high-quality, accessible nutrition available to so many families nationwide.
Unfortunately, due to relatively low sales for Bonya since launch, UK retailers have taken the decision to delist the product. With Bonya soon to become unavailable in-store due to this decision, coupled with the increasing number of parents wanting to use Kendamil for their baby, we have taken the difficult decision to focus our production on Kendamil only. This means that distribution of Bonya shall be discontinued in July 2026.
One thing we are so proud of with Bonya have been the charity partnerships developed over the last year. Through our partnerships we have been able to donate over one million feeds of Bonya to UK families in need. As we manage this transition, helping families in need gain access to essential baby food will continue to be our focus through 2026 and some further initiatives to support these parents will be announced in due course.
If you are using Bonya currently, there is no need to worry. Bonya will continue to be available to purchase online through to July 2026. If you usually purchase Bonya in-store, you may find that your local retailer doesn’t stock Bonya starting from this month (this will vary retailer to retailer depending on their individual delist decisions and timelines).
We recommend that all those using Bonya transition to a new formula by the end of July.
For those Bonya parents seeking an alternative whole milk formula, our Kendamil Classic would be the closest match as it is made with whole milk, has no palm oil or fish oil and has added GOS and FOS.
We’re here to help every step of the way, if you’d like personalised advice, please get in touch with our customer care team at enquiries@kendamil.com.
How to switch gently:
We recommend replacing one feed a day with your new formula, then gradually increasing over several days to a week until the transition is complete. This helps to make the switch more comfortable for baby’s digestive system.

FAQs
Why are you discontinuing Bonya?
Bonya was created to give families access to a high-quality, lower-cost formula without compromising on ingredients. Unfortunately, due to relatively low sales of Bonya since launch, retailers have unfortunately taken the decision to delist the product later this year. With Bonya soon to become unavailable in-store due to this decision, coupled with the increasing number of parents wanting to use Kendamil for their baby, we have taken the difficult decision to focus our production on Kendamil only, so we can ensure full availability for parents wishing to use it. Bonya has been something we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re grateful to the families who trusted us with their baby’s nutrition. While we are very disappointed by this decision, we’re committed to supporting Bonya parents through the transition over the coming months.
Is Bonya being discontinued because something is wrong with it?
We want to reassure you that there are no safety or quality concerns with Bonya, and this is not a recall. The decision by UK retailers to discontinue Bonya is due to relatively low sales since launch. Alongside this, we’ve seen a growing number of parents across the UK demanding Kendamil, our flagship brand, so we’ve made the difficult decision to focus our production on Kendamil moving forward so we can keep our UK parents fully-stocked. If you’re currently using Bonya, you can continue to do so as normal, and we’re here to support you with the transition over the coming months.
Are you discontinuing all Bonya stages or only certain ones?
All Bonya stages will be discontinued. Existing stock will still be available online until July, and some retailers may continue to sell remaining stock while supplies last. We recommend beginning a gradual transition to a new formula over the coming months.
Will Bonya ever come back?
At the moment, there are no plans for Bonya to return. Our focus is on supporting Bonya families as they transition to a new formula and continuing to develop and produce Kendamil products.
What formula should I switch to?
If you’re looking for the closest alternative, Kendamil Classic is the most similar formula as it’s made with whole milk and contains no palm oil or fish oil.
Will donations continue even though Bonya is ending?
Yes absolutely. Supporting families in need is so important to us. Through Kendamil we will continue to work with our charity partners to donate essential baby food items to those most in need, here in the UK and abroad. Do follow Kendamil on social media for more updates and news on our charity partnerships.
